WHAT IS PADDOCK TALK? Paddock Talk is a Barfield Road Producer Group initiative designed to connect local producers through practical, on-farm discussions and shared learning. This is the first in what we hope will become a regular series of visits to local properties. Producers can participate as either a host or a guest, sharing ideas, experiences, successes and challenges with others. The concept is simple—we gather and head straight into the paddock. No PowerPoint. No paperwork. No meeting rooms. No formal speeches. Just practical conversations, real experiences and genuine producer-to-producer learning. TOPICS FOR THIS FIRST VISIT Carl will share how we use our IN-PADDOCK CATTLE WEIGHING SCALES and how this data assists with monitoring weight gains, drafting decisions and overall herd management. He will also discuss some of the lessons we have learned along the way. Check out our NEW CATTLE YARDS, which are approximately 90% complete and feature a Bud Box. Other discussion: We hope this half-day visit will stimulate conversations about management challenges and encourage the sharing of practical ideas, experiences and solutions.
